TEC members say that the benefits of membership are
many and varied, including:
Most CEOs wrestle with issues that cannot
be discussed with staff, friends or other business acquaintances. TEC
provides a supportive peer group where any and all issues may be discussed
in a totally confidential environment. The TEC group and the TEC chair
act as a sounding board which fosters lateral thinking and extra input,
so that the best ideas can be analysed and applied by each member to
their greatest business advantage. As one TEC member said, “none
of us is as smart as all of us”.
Each TEC group, together with the TEC chair,
maintains a strong emphasis on follow through and implementation of
actions undertaken by TEC members, ensuring that key targets are achieved
and results measured and assessed.
TEC groups have TEC speaker workshops on major business topics
such as strategic planning, marketing, finance, employment law, tax
law, leadership and a wide range of human resource topics. Each group
works through its own program of topics, and there are also several
occasions a year when members focus on personal issues such as stress
management, personal finance and gaining a better balance between their
business and personal lives.
It can be lonely at the top. Many CEOs experience
a sense of isolation which can dampen the rewards and challenges of
their position. TEC provides a supportive peer group where members can “discuss
the undiscussable”, helping to reduce the stress associated with
this level of responsibility.
TEC membership helps CEOs deal with the speed of change and emergency
issues in their companies and enables
focus on strategy to move the organisation
to the future. New management ideas and technologies
are implemented with the help of the
group, TEC chair and expert TEC speakers.
TEC members have the advantage of being
able to observe and learn from the experiences
of other TEC Members in Australia and around the world via the TEC
website.
TEC has more than 10,000 members worldwide
and every member is encouraged to network with TEC members in his or
her city or country and around the world. |
